For gear and tech creators

From idea to published.
Every take accounted for.

Content Slate is a production system for creators who review gear, tell stories with it, and juggle brand deals on the side. Move each video from idea to published, see what's stuck at a glance, and keep every sponsor, loaner and collab in one place.

Why it exists

Built from the system I've run my channel on since 2023.

70+videos planned
1place for all of it

I've planned MatsuXL in a Notion dashboard for years: a content vault, a shot list, a sponsor list, a script template. It worked, until it didn't. Ideas got lost, deals lived in my inbox, and plenty of videos stalled somewhere between filming and editing without me noticing.

Content Slate is that system, rebuilt around the part that actually breaks: the middle. It shows me what's stuck, what's due for a brand, what gear goes back when, and how long each video really took.

How it's organized

Five tabs. Nothing else to learn.

Type an idea in the bar at the top, any time. Everything else flows from there.

This Week

Your week, day by day. Drag videos between days, see brand deliverables, follow-ups and loaner returns coming up, and how much you actually published.

Ideas

Every idea you've banked. Search and filter, give one a date, or start scripting it in one tap.

Pipeline

Every video in production, from scripting to published. Drag cards between stages. Green, yellow and red lights show what's on track, getting close, or stuck.

Network

Brands and creators in one place. Contacts, deal terms, follow-up dates, socials, and every video you've made together.

Events

Conventions and shoots with a countdown, plus the videos you're planning around them.

Made for how gear creators work

The stuff a generic planner skips.

Reviews aren't stories

Two templates

Reviews ask what you're testing, who it's for, pros, cons, rivals and the verdict. Story videos ask about the moment, the stakes, the gear's role and what changes.

"Don't post before Tuesday"

Embargo flags

Add the embargo date to a deal. Any video for that brand scheduled too early turns red.

The loaner goes back in 90 days

Return reminders

Mark a deal as a loaner with a return date. It shows up on This Week before it's due.

Waiting on brand approval

Sponsor tab

Talking points, link, code, ad read, draft due date and approval status, right on the video. Disclosure steps get added to your upload checklist.

Which lens was that again?

Gear-aware shot lists

Shots grouped by script chapter with type, size, frame rate and gear. Unshot gear rolls up into a "pull out before you film" list.

Videos that quietly stall

Stuck lights

Every stage has a time limit. When a video sits too long, it goes yellow, then red. Your ship rate shows if it's working.

Your data

Your deals and contacts are yours.

Brand terms, contacts and unreleased ideas are sensitive. Here's how Content Slate treats them.
